Aquidauana is a town in southwest Brazil dotted with cattle ranches. It’s known as a southern gateway to the Pantanal tropical wetlands, inhabited by jaguars and hundreds of bird species. The old town center lies by the Aquidauana River and is home to the Igreja Matriz, a 1930s church. The nearby Museu de Arte Pantaneira Manoel Antônio Paes de Barro displays local art, plus artifacts from the Paraguayan War.
