On the northern outskirts of Lisbon city center, Telheiras is a low-key neighborhood with houses, apartment blocks, and several schools on its tree-lined streets. The 50,000-seater José Alvalde Stadium is home to soccer team Sporting Club Portugal. Students from the nearby Lisbon University are drawn to the area's down-to-earth bars, eateries, and coffee shops.
