Frankfurt, a central German city on the river Main, is a major financial hub that's home to the European Central Bank. It's the birthplace of famed writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, whose former home is now the Goethe House Museum. Like much of the city, it was damaged during World War II and later rebuilt. The reconstructed Altstadt (Old Town) is the site of Römerberg, a square that hosts an annual Christmas market.
Hanau is a city in the Main-Kinzig-Kreis, in Hesse, Germany. It is located 25 km east of Frankfurt am Main and is part of the Frankfurt Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region. Its station is a major railway junction and it has a port on the river Main, making it an important transport centre.

The first joint event leads them to the 578,000 square meter exhibition grounds, where the wedding fair is currently taking place. Rosi Döpfner, a hotel manager who is no longer completely fresh, reports her fiance Rüdiger Vogelsang as missing. In the middle of trying on her wedding dress, it has vanished into thin air. A sudden onset of marriage phobia? Yet he seemed to be the last romantic on earth. But Herta Frohwitter and Marco Petrassi found out that the man had already let the wedding bells ring for some well-heeled women before he disappeared: cosmetics heiress Ursula Semmelmann, entrepreneur Sabine Wetzel and polar researcher Dr. Wilma Castorff. However, none of the women reported the greedy marriage swindler, probably out of fear of embarrassment. But strangely enough, the exiles are now showing up at the fair - do they have anything to do with Vogelsang's disappearance? Frohwitter and Petrassi follow a hot lead that leads them, among other things, into the freezing cold of female emotions.
