Plot summary

In 2019, we made the first large-scale, all-encompassing documentary on a topic that has only recently come into focus in Hungary. The title and the topic of the film is Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's is a captivating, thought-provoking and sometimes shocking documentary about a disease that affects more and more people in Hungary as well as worldwide. The disease can't be taken lightly. Sadly, Alzheimer's and other dementia's affect nearly every family in some way. In recent years, the medical community has been undergoing a transformation. Scientists and also the public are beginning to see the harsh reality- Alzheimer's is spreading fast. Doctors and families are unprepared. Families struggle. Little is known about where to get help. In the documentary the most renowned doctors and researchers tell us what they know about the condition so far. The film is also trying to help those who, who have little or no knowledge of the disease, and don't know where to find support. Most importantly we wanted to show how vulnerable human life can be. Memories, intellect, personality-all these can be lost due to this cruel disease. We don't really understand what and happens inside the person or how this disease develops. What we see is the personality disintegrating, and the person becoming 'someone else'. Positive examples are also shown in the film- well-functioning care settings in France and Hungary, loving families caring for their loved one. We trust there is light at the end of the tunnel.
