Sedan is a commune in the Ardennes department and Grand Est region of north-eastern France. It is also the chef-lieu of the arrondissement of the same name. Sedan is notable as the site of two major battles between the armed forces of France and Germany, both of which were won by Germany.

Verdun is a small city in northeast France, on the banks of the Meuse river. It’s known as the site of the WWI Battle of Verdun. Verdun's battlefields are marked by museums and memorials, such as the Douaumont Ossuary, with the remains of more than 100,000 soldiers. Northwest of the city is the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery. In the town, the huge Porte Chaussée gate was once part of the city's medieval walls.
America Goes Over (1918)
A film produced and distributed by the US Army Signal Corps during World War I to inform and "educate" the US population about the reasons for fighting the war. Featured are scenes with Gen. John Pershing, commander of US forces in Europe, and views of US soldiers in combat and resting up between battles.
