Campinas is a city in southeast Brazil, northwest of São Paulo. Its Metropolitan Cathedral has a jacaranda-wood interior and a museum of sacred art. Castle Tower, formerly a water tower, offers panoramic views. In the north, Portugal Park contains a planetarium and restored tramcars from the early 20th century. On the edge of the park, the Coffee Museum recalls the city’s coffee-producing history.
Anger (2019)
The creative process of 'Anger' began from a persistent will of the director, to use his work to symbolically translate the anguish of an obscure period in the history of Brazil that was the military dictatorship and to emphasize the importance of learning with the past. Despite the metaphorical reference to this period, the main idea of the film is to portray such anguish by the internal psychological conflicts of the protagonist, Joel, a retired military man, who has his solitary and quiet routine interrupted by an apartment renovation coming from his neighbor. Confined to the walls of his apartment, the uncomfortable and uninterrupted noise of the work in the neighbor's apartment gradually brings to the forefront the inner conflicts of the protagonist, regrets and consequences of a past of violence leading Joel to face himself and his own conscience. 'Anger' is a symbolic analysis of how ignoring and not taking time to understanding the past has serious consequences for the future.
