Plot summary

Aurel Vlaicu is a young man born in Bintinti, Transylvania. His dream is to built a flying machine, so he studies engineering in Budapest and Munich, then comes back home. He first builds a glider, and the first person to fly on it is his 5 year old sister Valeria, in 1909. Then he goes to Bucharest and there, with the support of the most important personalities of the Romanian culture of the time, he builds his first airplane and flies it on June, 17th, 1010. His ideal is to unite Romania and Transylvania by flying over the Carpathians, but while trying this historic flight he crashes and dies, on August 31st / September 13th 1913.
