Berlin, Germany’s capital, dates to the 13th century. Reminders of the city's turbulent 20th-century history include its Holocaust memorial and the Berlin Wall's graffitied remains. Divided during the Cold War, its 18th-century Brandenburg Gate has become a symbol of reunification. The city's also known for its art scene and modern landmarks like the gold-colored, swoop-roofed Berliner Philharmonie, built in 1963.
Brandenburg an der Havel is a German town west of Berlin. It’s known for its Gothic, red-brick buildings, including the 15th-century Old Town Hall. Close by, Brandenburg Cathedral has a chapel with a painted vault, a baroque organ and a museum displaying medieval textiles. The late-medieval St. Paul’s Monastery is home to the Archaeological Museum. Nearby are the ruins of the medieval town wall.
Aus Liebe zu Dir (2012)
Architect Sophia is expecting a child from her colleague and partner Marc, with whom she found late happiness after the death of her first husband. Together with her 25-year-old daughter Adriana, who is also about to give birth, she is spending a harmonious weekend at the lake. On the way home, however, Adriana gets into a traffic accident and is seriously injured and taken to the hospital. The doctors are able to save the life of her unborn son, but Adriana will not be able to have any more children after the difficult procedure. Amidst the general excitement, Sophia goes into labour, and shortly afterwards she gives birth to her son in the same hospital. Both mothers are relieved and happy, but while Sophia is looking after the newborns alone at night, she is horrified to see that her daughter's child is lying dead in its crib. In this terrible moment there is no time to think - Sophia spontaneously swaps the babies. The consequences of this lonely decision quickly overwhelm her. She has to keep her painful longing for the child she has given away to herself, a secret that puts their partnership to the test. Adriana, on the other hand, cannot cope with her role as a mother, despite the support of her husband Jobst. The young woman suffers from postnatal depression and takes refuge in numerous occupations. Meanwhile, Sophia is happy to step in and look after her supposed grandchild as a babysitter. She finds it increasingly difficult to give the baby back - when Adriane discovers that Sophia is breastfeeding her baby, there is a scandal.
