Calambrone is a village in Tuscany, central Italy, administratively a frazione of the comune of Pisa, province of Pisa. Calambrone is about 25 km from the city of Pisa.
Livorno is an Italian port city on the west coast of Tuscany. It's known for its seafood, Renaissance-era fortifications and modern harbor with a cruise ship port. Its central Terrazza Mascagni, a waterside promenade with checkerboard paving, is the city's main gathering place. The bastions of the 16th-century Fortezza Vecchia face the harbor and open onto Livorno's canal-laced Venezia Nuova quarter.
The laid-back seaside resort of Marina di Pisa is home to the modern Port of Pisa yachting dock with its long, paved jetty. Pebble and sandy beaches have calm waters sheltered by stone barriers, making them popular with families. Pizzerias, ice cream parlors, and bars line the seafront and Via Maiorca. Farther south, at Tirrenia, the beaches are sandier and broader, and the coastal strip is dotted with hotels.

The Cormorant is a former summer camp at the mouth of the river nearby Pisa. This is where young Mario lives. Everybody nicknames him B.B. (for Bugs Bunny) because of his teeth. Around him gravitate a range of colorful characters, all more weird than the other, but with whom he gets along. As far he is concerned, B.B. works hard with a view to earning enough money for being able some day to buy a plane ticket to the USA, where he dreams of joining an uncle who lives in New York and becoming a singer there. But one day, his American uncle returns.
