Plot summary

At the circus, Betty takes a notion to a baby elephant and induces her father to buy it. He takes it on a week's trial. Betty discovers that it is too big a plaything and it is returned. George, her fiancé, hoping to please her, goes to a costumer's and hires an imitation elephant outfit. He induces two of his friends to fill the front and hind legs. He leads them to Betty's home and she, pretending to he deceived, receives it with much glee and locks the elephant actors in the barn. George and Betty make love at their leisure. The two fellows in the barn become restless and when they attempt to get out, find themselves locked in. After a while, George goes to the barn, tells the boys to pretend the elephant is dead. He fetches Betty, she pretends to weep and George leads her away. The two boys crawl out of the elephant and have a good laugh at each other for having been made the victims of a huge joke.
