The city of Zurich, a global center for banking and finance, lies at the north end of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland. The picturesque lanes of the central Altstadt (Old Town), on either side of the Limmat River, reflect its pre-medieval history. Waterfront promenades like the Limmatquai follow the river toward the 17th-century Rathaus (town hall).
Prague, capital city of the Czech Republic, is bisected by the Vltava River. Nicknamed “the City of a Hundred Spires,” it's known for its Old Town Square, the heart of its historic core, with colorful baroque buildings, Gothic churches and the medieval Astronomical Clock, which gives an animated hourly show. Completed in 1402, pedestrian Charles Bridge is lined with statues of Catholic saints.
Borchert und die dunklen Schatten (2022)
After an argument with her mother, the youth psychologist Julia Egger causes an accident, seriously injures a man and drives away, lost in thought. Her explanation that she was deliberately pushed aside by a dark SUV and did not see the man initially sounds unconvincing to her lawyers Borchert and Dominique - especially since Julia has a history of drinking and driving. While her younger half-sister Mavi sticks by Julia, her parents don't seem to be of any help. When Borchert felt the freezing cold of her ambitious mother and her career-focused husband, he felt reminded of his childhood - and felt a special obligation to his client. As soon as Julia was released on bail, she was seriously injured in a fire in her apartment. Another accident under the influence of alcohol? While Captain Furrer has no doubts, Borchert begins to turn every stone.
