Kraków, a southern Poland city near the border of the Czech Republic, is known for its well-preserved medieval core and Jewish quarter. Its old town – ringed by Planty Park and remnants of the city’s medieval walls – is centered on the stately, expansive Rynek Glówny (market square). This plaza is the site of the Cloth Hall, a Renaissance-era trading outpost, and St. Mary’s Basilica, a 14th-century Gothic church.
Modlin was a village near Warsaw in Poland near the banks of rivers Narew and Vistula. In 1961 it was incorporated into the town of Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki. There is a former Modlin Fortress holding a junction of the two rivers, built in the 19th century, and last used during World War II.
Powsin is known for its abundance of green spaces, including forested Park Kultury with its summer and winter recreation options, and the adjacent Polish Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden. Not far from the 14th-century St. Elizabeth Church, the marshy shores of Torfowiska Lake draw bird-watchers, while hikers follow a trail by the Wilanówka River. Hotels, shops, and restaurants line Łukasza Drewny Street.
Sopot is a town on the Baltic Sea in northern Poland. Along with neighboring cities Gdynia and Gdańsk, it forms the so-called Tri-City metropolitan area. Sopot is known for its health spas, sandy beach and its long wooden pier that extends into the Bay of Gdańsk. The Crooked House is a surreal building modeled on fairy-tale illustrations. It's on Sopot’s pedestrianized main street, Monciak, also called Monte Cassino.
Warsaw, officially the Capital City of Warsaw, is the capital and largest city of Poland. The metropolis stands on the River Vistula in east-central Poland.
