Comeback (2006)
Pavel Kozina (Richard Krajco) is a rock singer and composer; his rock group has recently been doing well and is gaining popularity in the Czech Republic. The stress from touring, clubbing, and meetings with funs changes Pavels behaviour and he develops a serious drinking problem. His musical career is put on hold. It gets better for a while when he decides for a treatment in the asylum, but then the situation worsens again. After a financial and marital break-up, he moves from the city to live in his parents cottage in a small village somewhere in the mountains. He works in the woods to earn his living and meets with local people who support him emotionally. He slowly gets new ideas and starts to compose songs again. The new songs are thoughtful and rich with personal experience that evolved from his life. In the end, his music becomes even more popular. The plot is based on a frequent problem with celebrities and the whole story is full of well-known clichés. But the film wins over the audience because of the great performance and seemingly autobiographical acting of Richard Krajco, who in fact is a popular Czech musician too. (His alternative rock group is called Krystof.) Richard Krajco himself sings all the songs, which he mostly composed himself, and plays the guitar in the film.
