Other major attractions include Teatro Colón, a grand 1908 opera house with nearly 2,500 seats, and the modern MALBA museum, displaying Latin American art.
Como bola sin manija (2010)
Ruben is an enchanting and peculiar old man (he's 77) who has decided not to go outside his own door 30 years ago. (Ruben lives in Bernal, in a wee house, built for him in his nephew Nicolas' backyard). He likes football, gambling (lotto and horse races) and TV. The kind Clelia, and a little queer woman, "Dry Leather", with whom Ruben has been in love, are his neighbours. This is one of the motifs. The other? He has quarrelled with his cousin/friend "Handle", a nice and quiet person. Oscar, or "Handle", lives in a village called Rojas, in the Provincia de Buenos Aires. He's also a bachelor. Why have they quarrelled? We don't know!! This documentary shows the nephew and nieces' efforts to change these situations. (Nicolás, the nephew, is a football coach; Ana is both a lacanian shrink and a tarotist, and Nora is a gentle librarian). They try to convince Ruben, whose answer is always "NO", to change, to go out, to meet Oscar, who once was so close to him. But at the end, Ruben finally receives Oscar (the family has invited him to Buenos Aires) and is seen walking happily along the street. The film is a little work of art, plenty of humor and feeling.
