Luxembourg is a small European country, surrounded by Belgium, France and Germany. It’s mostly rural, with dense Ardennes forest and nature parks in the north, rocky gorges of the Mullerthal region in the east and the Moselle river valley in the southeast. Its capital, Luxembourg City, is famed for its fortified medieval old town perched on sheer cliffs.

Schifflange is a commune and town in south-western Luxembourg. It is part of the canton of Esch-sur-Alzette. As of 2023, the commune has a population of 11,363. Schifflange was formed on 15 August 1876, when it was detached from the commune of Esch-sur-Alzette.

Historic villas dot leafy Hietzing, the 13th District, one of Vienna’s most affluent neighborhoods. Baroque Schönbrunn Palace, the Habsburgs’ summer residence, draws visitors to its opulent interiors, while walkers converge on the manicured gardens and zoo. In the city center, the Fontana del Calamo is a fountain with bronze masks of mythic figures. In the port are the ancient Arch of Trajan and the Lazzaretto, or Mole Vanvitelliana, an 18th-century pentagonal quarantine station on its own island.

Semmering is a town in the district of Neunkirchen in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It is noted for its skiing, and has hosted the Alpine skiing World Cup several times. When the Semmering Railway was completed in 1854, the town quickly became a popular tourist getaway in winter months.
