Long Beach is a coastal city and port in Southern California. Moored in its Queensway Bay, RMS Queen Mary is a retired ocean liner and museum ship. The waterfront Aquarium of the Pacific features touch tanks and a shark lagoon. Modern and contemporary works are on display at the Museum of Latin American Art. Rancho Los Cerritos is a 19th-century adobe home and museum set in expansive gardens.

Los Angeles is a sprawling Southern California city and the center of the nation’s film and television industry. Near its iconic Hollywood sign, studios such as Paramount Pictures, Universal and Warner Brothers offer behind-the-scenes tours. On Hollywood Boulevard, TCL Chinese Theatre displays celebrities’ hand- and footprints, the Walk of Fame honors thousands of luminaries and vendors sell maps to stars’ homes.

Southern California is famed for its sunny weather and dramatic Pacific coastline. San Diego, just north of the Mexican border, is known for surfing spots and massive Balboa Park, with its world-renowned zoo and museums. Across the bay lies resort city Coronado. Up the coast is Los Angeles, home to Hollywood studios, fine art in the Getty Center, Griffith Park and the high-end shops of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

Undergoing revitalization, Westlake is a densely populated area centered on the historic MacArthur Park, with a lake and outdoor concerts. The iconic Westlake Theatre sign presides over discount stores and low-key Latin eateries, while hip galleries and bars have sprung up as artists move in. The Hayworth and Bootleg theaters show live acts, and Victorian homes line Bonnie Brae St., a former film-star enclave.

Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.

Koreatown's many bars and casual 24/7 dining makes for a buzzing late-night scene. There are Korean BBQ restaurants with tabletop grills, plus karaoke joints, hip speakeasies and flashy clubs, as well as the landmark Wiltern Theatre, an art deco music venue. K-town’s dense mix of historic buildings and contemporary complexes also features traditional spas, bubble tea cafes and specialty grocery stores.

Echo Park is a neighborhood in the east-central region of Los Angeles, California. Located to the northwest of Downtown, it is bordered by Silver Lake to the west and Chinatown to the east.
