Podkowa Leśna is a town in Grodzisk Mazowiecki County, Masovian Voivodeship of Poland and located within the territory of the Młochowskie Forests. Town status – since 1 January 1969. The town also has the status of gmina, meaning "commune". Population – ca. 4000. Founded in 1925.
Skierniewice is a city in central Poland with 47,031 inhabitants, situated in the Łódź Voivodeship. It is the capital of Skierniewice County. The town is situated almost exactly halfway between Łódź and Warsaw. Through the town runs the small river Łupia, also called Skierniewka.
Modlin was a village near Warsaw in Poland near the banks of rivers Narew and Vistula. In 1961 it was incorporated into the town of Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki. There is a former Modlin Fortress holding a junction of the two rivers, built in the 19th century, and last used during World War II.
Nowe Miasto, or New Town, was rebuilt after WWII and is dotted with churches, including the baroque St. Kazimierz. Galleries and unpretentious eateries line car-free Freta Street. The Multimedia Fountain Park has nighttime music and light shows, and in summer trendy open-air bars fill up along the Vistula riverfront. The Warsaw Uprising Monument commemorates lives lost during the 1944 resistance operation.
