In 2020, in Anzio, during the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy, Jacopo spends his days playing the piano and sipping coffee on his balcony. One day, his attention is captured by Greta, the neighbor next door, engaged in a furious argument from the adjacent balcony. After the end of the phone call, Jacopo discovers that the couple has separated. In an act of kindness, he stops playing the piano for himself and begins to do so to brighten Greta's day. Despite Jacopo's more frequent outings on the balcony, Greta decides to stay indoors, destroying the memories of her ex-boyfriend. Jacopo, not finding her on the balcony anymore, begins to lose hope of seeing her again and plays the piano less and less. One afternoon, while Jacopo is busy hanging clothes, Greta finally comes out, and the two exchange a shy greeting from one balcony to the other. Fascinated by Jacopo's smile, Greta starts visiting the balcony more and more often, hoping to meet him or listen to his piano melody.
