Frankfurt, a central German city on the river Main, is a major financial hub that's home to the European Central Bank. It's the birthplace of famed writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, whose former home is now the Goethe House Museum. Like much of the city, it was damaged during World War II and later rebuilt. The reconstructed Altstadt (Old Town) is the site of Römerberg, a square that hosts an annual Christmas market.

On the 16th of July, 1950, a minor hustler named Otto Blankenstein was arrested for violating Paragraph 175, a law that made homosexual acts between males a crime. In order to avoid prison Otto Blankenstein gave away the names of his clients. This led to a wave of arrests lasting for 10 months. During that time more than 200 gay men had to stand trial. One of them was Wolfgang Lauinger. This short documentary was awarded grants by Homosexuelle Selbsthilfe e.V. Hamburg Pride e.V, die schwelle Foundation
