Paul, heir to a family firm, lets his domineering mother Kirsten plan his wedding with Emma in detail like she tries for everything in his life and that of his father. But while Paul's womanizing brother Viktor picks up his grandmother and gets painfully caught between dates including bride's sister Maren, and the girls' estranged, wide-wandering adventurous mother Frida arrives alternatively, bride Emma gets cold feet and cycles off in her wedding dress. She falls, gets found and picked up by hotel owner Hans and decides to stay there a while. The family tires of waiting on the party yacht, wanders off and ends up finding her there. Meanwhile Emma bumped into the hedonistic yacht catering waiter Moritz, who inspires her to consider alternatives for a possibly loveless marriage. Frida also is confronted with Hans, the never-recovered true love she left years ago for adventure in Brazil and the long-stranded marriage with Emma's responsible, caring father, 'boring' Per.
