Die Kronzeugin (2017)
A shootout, five fatalities and he himself wounded - in the otherwise quiet station of the village policeman Frank Koops, things are just like in the Wild West. The bloodbath was ordered by the imprisoned mafia boss Petrovic, who wants to use all means to get rid of a key witness who was hidden in the tranquility of St. Andreasberg in the utmost secrecy. LKA officer Christiane Kuschnereit, a childhood friend of Frank Koops, was responsible for protecting the witness. She had rightly feared that there must be "moles" in the police force. As she dies, after the shootout with Petrovic's killers, she lets Koops into a secret: the alleged key witness was a civil servant, the real Matilda Schönemann is still in town under a false name. Koops takes on the dangerous task of bringing the young woman to the court hearing unharmed. Apart from his friend, the postman and self-proclaimed Wyatt Earp expert Heiner, the cranky police officer can't trust anyone - least of all the LKA duo Benedikt and Gottschalk, who soon take over the investigation.
