Frankfurt, a central German city on the river Main, is a major financial hub that's home to the European Central Bank. It's the birthplace of famed writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, whose former home is now the Goethe House Museum. Like much of the city, it was damaged during World War II and later rebuilt. The reconstructed Altstadt (Old Town) is the site of Römerberg, a square that hosts an annual Christmas market.
Bad Homburg vor der Höhe is the district town of the Hochtaunuskreis, Hesse, Germany, on the southern slope of the Taunus mountains. Bad Homburg is part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area. The town's official name is Bad Homburg v.d.Höhe, which distinguishes it from other places named Homburg.
Bingen am Rhein is a town in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The settlement's original name was Bingium, a Celtic word that may have meant "hole in the rock", a description of the shoal behind the Mäuseturm, known as the Binger Loch.

With their trendy magazine for alternative tourism, Claudia and Michael have successfully turned their passion for travel into a profession. The independent publicists, however, always work to the limit and neglect their marriage and their pubescent son Jonas, who was left sitting for the second time. The unexpected death of her mother Maria, whom she could hardly see due to her busy schedule, hits Claudia hard. Now, of all times, she discovers that her husband is secretly meeting a young, attractive employee. In response to this shock, she first needs some distance. Despite urgent business appointments, she spontaneously decides to accompany her father Rainer on his last voyage with his old cargo ship. The weird inland boatman, who for decades sailed up and down the Rhine with his beloved wife, wants to scatter her ashes in the river. On the leisurely chugging boat, Claudia gradually clears her head again. The reunion with her childhood friend Jan, who is still in love with her, opens up new perspectives. Meanwhile, Michael regrets his escapade and surprisingly comes on board. Claudia cannot be satisfied with a simple apology.
