Having lost his wife in an accident at his restaurant 8 months ago, chef Martin walked away from his 1-star gourmet restaurant, driving a taxi at night while trying to raise his daughter during the day. In court for an alleged hit-and-run, he clashes with judge Annemarie who ends up revoking his driver's license. Not being able to get any other work, Martin starts to work as a Santa in the local town he's living in. After an accident at the local ice rink, his daughter befriends the son of Annemarie, so all four start to spend more time with each other. In the meantime, Martin's father, a retired mailman, is very happy about the prospects of a relationship between Annemarie and Martin. With the help of a friend, he starts to mettle, which of course does more harm than good to our two potential lovebirds...
