Plot summary
A young man comes into the matchmaking agency. The owner, Mr. Stastny, may break himself with willingness, but no potential bride is good enough for a young man. Eventually it is discovered, and this is a blow to Mr. Stastny, that Mr. Kalous has come to propose to his daughter Emilka. The unwanted groom is first thrown out by Mr. Stastny after a sharp exchange. But he returns and the clever matchmaker tries another method.
