Gorizia, colloquially stara Gorica 'old Gorizia' to distinguish it from Nova Gorica, is a town and comune in northeastern Italy, in the autonomous region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. It is located at the foot of the Julian Alps, bordering Slovenia.
