Plot summary

Set in a small town, Northeast China. Big-ear Wang Kangmei retires from work. He has tracheopathia, his wife also stays in hospital for illness, the son ignores proper occupation, the daughter gets marriage problem. Though people all say that big ears means good luck, but Wang knows that life does say so. He tries to do different works for money, but everything is not so easy.
