Keerbergen is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises only the town of Keerbergen proper. On January 1, 2006, Keerbergen had a total population of 12,444. The total area is 18.39 km² which gives a population density of 677 inhabitants per km².
Residential Saint-Gilles is known for its indie galleries and art nouveau buildings, including the Horta Museum, with stained glass and ceramics by Victor Horta. Sunday’s vast Midi Market at Brussels-South Railway Station sells everything from plants to clothing and exotic spices. The Museum of the Gueuze, in the nearby Cantillon brewery, tells the story of the city’s unique spontaneously fermented beers.
Heist-aan-Zee, Heist or Heyst, is a town in Knokke-Heist, West Flanders, Belgium. It was a prominent summer beach resort in the 1890s. It had a beach front lined with hotels and a "dike" paved walked way on a storm fender. Fishing boats were moored on the beach, and one could purchase a ticket to bathe in the sea.

A 40-year-old architect begins to doubt his role as a father in a world sliding into decadence. When he meets a young Polish girl he runs off with her to Rhodes. His psycho-moralistic angst is presented in a series of flashbacks when the hijack of his airplane forces him to take stock of his life.
