Geerbtes Glück (2004)
The successful, fun-loving landscape architect Ulrike Bongart can be completely satisfied with her life. She has a responsible position in a respected Hamburg agency, lives with her likeable daughter Saskia in her mother Hanne's large, elegant house, and in her boss Arno Flemming Ulrike also has an attractive admirer. But an unexpected inheritance gives Ulrike's life a completely new twist from one day to the next: Her paternal friend Henry Nissen bequeathed her a finca and a picturesque winery in a small village near Barcelona. During her visit to the small town, the single mother meets the handsome, extremely charming Pablo Braso, to whom she immediately feels drawn. But as much as she likes it in the sunny south, Ulrike has to go back to Hamburg, where an important assignment is waiting. When Pablo follows her to Germany, the two spend a romantic night together. The next day, however, there is a rude awakening in the office, because Arno had observed the turtle-necking couple the night before. In his jealousy he puts the pistol to Ulrike's chest: either she marries him or she loses her job. In her anger, Ulrike decides to move to her finca in Spain with Saskia. She wants to start a new life as a wine farmer. In addition, she is already eagerly awaited by Pablo. What Ulrike does not suspect: Pablo's father Enrique, a half-smart businessman, wants to build a luxury hotel on Ulrike's property. Pablo should help him to get the property. But he finally refuses to take part in his father's dirty game. He loves Ulrike with all his heart and does not want to sacrifice this love for profane business interests. At the same time Arno shows up in the village. He has made inquiries and tells Ulrike about Pablo's apparently insidious machinations. Deeply hurt, Ulrike wants to return to Germany immediately.
