Kraków, a southern Poland city near the border of the Czech Republic, is known for its well-preserved medieval core and Jewish quarter. Its old town – ringed by Planty Park and remnants of the city’s medieval walls – is centered on the stately, expansive Rynek Glówny (market square). This plaza is the site of the Cloth Hall, a Renaissance-era trading outpost, and St. Mary’s Basilica, a 14th-century Gothic church.
Godzina bez slonca (1955)
Three kids decide to play hooky. They spend their sunny morning on the streets of Krakow. Very soon, however, they begin to feel bored. They can't afford ice cream, and kicking an empty can is entertainment only for a while. Then they come up with a prank and steal a small medieval sculpture from the museum's collection. However, they do not run away, but closely follow the reactions of the annoyed guardian and the beautiful lady director of the museum.
