A bus full of hostages was taken. Lieutenant Colonel of the Special Forces Aleksey Timofeev understands that one cannot come to an agreement with the bandits. Their demands are unacceptable. Among the innocent people appear the first victims. Timofeev decides to free the hostages alone. The operation was successful. But instead of gratitude, the lieutenant colonel is fired from the army with a scandal. Professionals of this level do not stay idle. Unexpectedly, Timofeev is offered a new job. In the beginning, he is forced to refuse. But circumstances force the former officer to take command of the secret «Zeta» group, whose task is to eliminate terrorists and their accomplices.
