Asunción is the capital city of Paraguay, bordered by the Paraguay River. It’s known for its grand López Palace, the seat of government housing the president’s offices. Nearby, the National Pantheon of Heroes has a mausoleum and plaques commemorating Paraguayan historical figures. The Independence House Museum is marked by its colonial architecture and features artifacts documenting emancipation from Spanish rule.
Corrientes is the capital city of the province of Corrientes, Argentina, located on the eastern shore of the Paraná River, about 1,000 km from Buenos Aires and 300 km from Posadas, on National Route 12. It has a population of 346,334 according to the 2010 Census. It lies opposite its twin city, Resistencia, Chaco.
Entre Rios is a province in Argentina’s northeastern Mesopotamia region, between the Paraná and Uruguay rivers. It’s known for its hot springs, such as at Federación, and its tradition of growing and drinking yerba mate tea. It’s home to 2 national parks: Predelta, filled with birdlife, and El Palmar, among the last remaining reserves of the yatay palm that once covered the region.
