For the first episode of this new season of L'Entre Vous, Théo Fragnière spoke with Henri Dès in a deliberately intimate atmosphere, for a moment of exchange with this artist who has had a 50-year career, during which he has written 200 songs, sold 5 million albums, filled the Olympia in Paris a hundred times and made thousands of children sing. But who is the man behind these numbers and these songs of our childhood whose melodies and lyrics remain familiar to us, whatever our age? In this exclusive interview, Henri Dès looks back on his childhood, and explains how he, who considers himself very average in everything and without any particular ambitions, went to Paris, accompanied by his wife, to start his career, initially in songs for adults. He tells how his first song for children was born and the difficulties he encountered at the beginning in this genre, without these difficulties pushing him to give up. Success took a long time to come, but once it did, he never lost it, because his career was built on the basis of an audience that gradually came to him while he was not receiving support from any media. His success is exclusively due to his work and perseverance as well as to the public, which knew how to discover and follow him.
