Piran is a resort city on Slovenia’s Adriatic coast, known for its long pier and Venetian architecture. Tartini Square is flanked by the Gothic red Venetian House and the frescoed Tartini House. The latter is the birthplace of violinist Giuseppe Tartini. The 19th-century town hall has a stone lion, a symbol of the former Republic of Venice. Zlobec lost a woman of his life in WWII when a plane named Herzog crashed over Adriatic sea. From then on, he obsessively tried to put up an altar for her. Therefore, he was blind to many things - including the fact that his daughter Ana has meanwhile grown into nice-looking girl who was at 18 years of age seduced by much older Rihard. Her lover and father are tied by friendship, which was interrupted by an unfortunate sinking accident, which puts Zlobec into wheelchair. Rihard sailed off to the world, Ana moves away and pays a visit to his father only once a year, on his birthday. Once she returns, all threads intersect again before the eyes of the young butler and his phantom companion. Ana meets Rihard and old flame comes to life again.
