Plot summary

To the summer hotel the freshly married couple comes. The bride's eyes are alight with the love twinkle and her new found joy tickles all over her. All these charms are not lost on Charley Chicken lover, the hotel proprietor, who steps in and gets whatever he wants where- ever it may be found, in family relations or otherwise. He is struck on the bride. But to the summer hotel there also comes a gay old sport and his wife. Married life is no longer a novelty, and he also is struck on the bride. He is also set on going to a midnight party that night. The exclusive millionaires are to hold it, strictly private, a very quiet affair. It is quiet from the police at any rate, and exclusively meant for gay foot-light ladies. The gay old sport's wife learns of her husband's intention, and she locks his clothes in his closet. There is a fire axe outside his door and, the wife safely sleeping, he seeks it, to use on the closet door. This plan might have worked out all right but the bride next door walks in her sleep and she walks into the arms of this other lady's husband. He thinks she is flirting with him, and seeing her husband's clothes through the open door, he puts them on for his own and leads her away to the party. As he goes out the hotel with the sleeping lady, the proprietor presents her with a bill for lingerie. In order to keep things running smoothly, the sport pays the bill. They proceed to the road house by taxi. The respective wife and husband awaken to find their respective husband and wife departed. There is a general alarm, when the proprietor, burned to the quick that the bride has gone off with another, tells of their whereabouts. Most shockingly they find the bride cavorting at the affair, but again their respective husband and wife come to their rescue and lead them safely home. But this glittering life has proven too much for both couples, and they make a hurried leave of the hotel the next morning. The proprietor, wishing to make more trouble, brings the bill for the lingerie to the wife of the muchly-married, only to find her gone. He learns they are on the way home. Vengeance he must have at all cost. He is one big trouble-maker at heart. He seeks them out on the train, but fate is against the villain, as it always should be. Just as he would present the incriminating bill he is ever prevented. The engine is taking on water and his villainy is flooded out.
