Macon is a city in central Georgia. Ocmulgee National Monument has large Native American earthen mounds from around 1000 A.D., and its museum displays artifacts spanning thousands of years. The Tubman Museum’s exhibits on African-American art, history and culture include a huge mural and the Inventors Gallery. The Allman Brothers Band Museum at the Big House shows memorabilia in the rock band’s former home.

Atlanta is the capital of the U.S. state of Georgia. It played an important part in both the Civil War and the 1960s Civil Rights Movement. Atlanta History Center chronicles the city's past, and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site is dedicated to the African-American leader’s life and times. Downtown, Centennial Olympic Park, built for the 1996 Olympics, encompasses the massive Georgia Aquarium.

Decatur is a city in Georgia, northeast of Atlanta. In the Old Courthouse, the DeKalb History Center’s museum traces local history through furniture and Civil War artifacts. Outside is a sculpture of Thomas Jefferson. Woodlands Garden offers tree-lined trails and native plants. To the northwest, Emory University’s Michael C. Carlos Museum houses ancient art and artifacts from Egypt, Greece, Rome and Asia.

Duluth is a city near Atlanta, Georgia. The Southeastern Railway Museum houses an array of train artifacts, like Pullman cars, locomotives and cabooses. Adjacent to Duluth City Hall, the Town Green park has a large fountain and hosts free concerts. Hudgens Center for the Arts presents changing exhibitions and has a sculpture garden. Northeast, beaches and parks ring Lake Lanier.

Georgia is a southeastern U.S. state whose terrain spans coastal beaches, farmland and mountains. Capital city Atlanta is home of the Georgia Aquarium and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, dedicated to the African-American leader’s life and times. The city of Savannah is famed for its 18th- and 19th-century architecture and leafy public squares. Augusta hosts the Masters golf tournament.

Dunwoody is a city located in DeKalb County, Georgia, United States. As a northern suburb of Atlanta, Dunwoody is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. It was incorporated as a city on December 1, 2008 but its area establishment dates back to the early 1830s.
