Shōnai is a town located in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. As of 29 February 2020, the town has an estimated population of 20,940 in 7108 households, and a population density of 87.5 per km². The total area of the town is 249.17 square kilometres.

Tsuruoka is a city on the northwest coast of Japan’s Honshu island. It’s known for the 3 Sacred Mountains of Dewa, including Mount Haguro, home to a shrine and a 5-story pagoda. Tsuruoka Park, on the site of the city’s castle ruins, has cherry trees. Nearby, the Chido Museum displays calligraphy and wooden folk art. Along the seafront are the Yunohama hot springs and Kamo Aquarium, which has bioluminescent jellyfish.

Plot summary
