Engineer Johannes Wallner returns to his native Alpine village as project leader for a ski resort planned by the municipality and a major company. Rather then join his brother Markus, who feels deserted and stuck with their crone mother Leni, Johannes takes the place of board tourists who are chased from single local farmer Anna Christeiner's financially vital B&B room by sabotage, as the whole village boycotts her for opposing the lucrative project. The two fall love, but then she discovers his job and he that she rightly suspects mayor and contractor Michi Penzinger of speculation to profit from an environmentally disastrous second phase and must choose a side. Markus discovers another shocking secret.
