Ayvalık, formerly also known as Kydonies, is a municipality and district of Balıkesir Province, Turkey. Its area is 305 km², and its population is 74,030. It is a seaside town on the northwestern Aegean coast of Turkey.
Beit She'an, also Beth-shean, formerly Beisan, is a town in the Northern District of Israel. The town lies at the Beit She'an Valley about 120 m below sea level. Beit She'an is believed to be one of the oldest cities in the region.
