Former R&B singer, Charles Bishop Tate, aka Charlie Tate, is down on his luck. With his pockets starting to run low, he tries to get back into the music game again, but fails miserably. All is lost, until he hears the gracious heavenly singing voice of Sophie Harris. He persuades her into being his protege, training her to become the next big hit. Deep down just using her just to get his name back into the music business. One day at rehearsal, Sophie gets cold feet and wants to stop, Charlie uses his flirtatious ways to boost Sophie's confidence, and she likes it, too much. The night of Sophie's breakout performance, she gives a killer performance. Later on, she and Charlie go back to her place to celebrate, one thing leads to another then they're having sex. Afterwards, Sophie confesses her love for Charlie, he plays along to keep her satisfied. One day, Charlie sees a side of Sophie he never thought existed, aggressive. Charlie confesses his true motives to Sophie and decides to end it, which doesn't settle well with her. Now Charlie will see a side of Sophie he wished he never knew, anger.
