Plot summary
When German professor Jan Altenberg meets the fascinating Helen Dubbs while searching for his father's murderer (because he refused to participate in the shooting of Yugoslav civilians during WWII, a German officer shot him), she helps him with his inquiries. But for both much is at stake in this search; it's not just their cautious love that is in danger.
