Amit is employed as a lecturer within a university and wholeheartedly loves Suman opting to get marry to her soon. Their only short-coming in life is Amit's younger brother, Raju, who they allow too much liberty to spoil him which gets him into serious trouble prompting Amit to intervene which gets him killed. A guilt ridden Raju comes across Amit's look-alike, Shankar; thinking that his brother has returned; Raju attempts to make amend by bringing Shankar into Suman and his life without knowing that Shankar is a wanted criminal who is using this route to escape from the authorities.
