Plot summary

The middle of the twentieth century. Hereditary surgeon Pavel Alekseevich Kukotsky is one of the most famous gynecologists of his time. Kukotsky developed an extensive program to combat illegal abortions and sought the repeal of the 1936 decree banning abortions.
