Iraqi Kurdistan or Southern Kurdistan refers to the Kurdish-populated part of northern Iraq. It is considered one of the four parts of "Kurdistan" in West Asia, which also includes parts of southeastern Turkey, northern Syria, and northwestern Iran.
Kurdistan Province is one of 31 provinces of Iran. The province is 28,817 km² in area and its capital is the city of Sanandaj. Kurdistan Province is in the west of Iran, in Region 3.

Kejal, a young Kurdish woman studying at Tehran returns home when her brother is killed in the mountains, leaving behind debts for lost goods. Forced by circumstance, Kejal becomes a Kulbar (Carrying goods on her back) - a woman in a men's world.
