Kallio is a laid-back bohemian area known for its many Finnish saunas and the Kallio Church, carved into granite and hosting concerts and organ recitals. Small neighborhood shops sell old maps, records or vintage clothes, while Hakaniemi Market Hall is packed with Finnish delicacies and crafts. A buzzing foodie scene includes popular vegan bistros and craft coffee spots, and the bars have a casual, alternative vibe.

Quiet harborside Katajanokka is known for elegant art nouveau buildings, the gold-domed, red-brick Uspenski Cathedral and upscale seafood restaurants. Icebreakers dock on the north shore, and 19th-century warehouse Wanha Satama hosts markets and nautical exhibits. The Allas Sea Pool is a busy outdoor swimming and sauna complex. Hakaniemi is an unofficial district of Helsinki, the Finnish capital. It covers most of the neighbourhood of Siltasaari in the district of Kallio. Hakaniemi is located at the sea shore and is separated from the city centre by the Siltavuorensalmi strait and from the district of Linjat by the street Hämeentie.

Ruoholahti is a quarter in Helsinki, part of the Länsisatama neighbourhood and Kampinmalmi district.
