Paris, France's capital, is a major European city and a global center for art, fashion, gastronomy and culture. Its 19th-century cityscape is crisscrossed by wide boulevards and the River Seine. Beyond such landmarks as the Eiffel Tower and the 12th-century, Gothic Notre-Dame cathedral, the city is known for its cafe culture and designer boutiques along the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.
Lyon, the capital city in France’s Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, sits at the junction of the Rhône and Saône rivers. Its center reflects 2,000 years of history from the Roman Amphithéâtre des Trois Gaules, medieval and Renaissance architecture in Vieux (Old) Lyon, to the modern Confluence district on Presqu'île peninsula. Traboules, covered passageways between buildings, connect Vieux Lyon and La Croix-Rousse hill.
Saint-Étienne is a city in east-central France. The Museum of Modern Art shows international works. The Couriot Mine Museum explores the town's industrial past with artifacts and a reconstructed mine. Southwest, in Firminy, the Le Corbusier Site, designed by the namesake architect, includes a stadium and the asymmetrical Maison de la Culture. Southeast, rugged Pilat Natural Park is home to woodpeckers and beavers.
Saint-Saulge is a commune in the Nièvre department in central France.
Lormont is a commune in the Gironde department, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, southwestern France. It is a suburb of the city of Bordeaux and is adjacent to it on the northeast. Thus, it is a member of the intercommunality Bordeaux Métropole.
La Léchère is a commune in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. It is situated in the Isère valley, between Albertville and Moûtiers. It was formed in 1972 by the merger of the former communes Notre-Dame-de-Briançon, Celliers, Doucy, Naves, Petit-Cœur and Pussy.
La Sociale (2016)
70 years ago, the ordinances promulgating the fields of application of Social Security were voted by the provisional government of the Republic. An old, secular dream emanating from people wanting to live without the anxiety of the next day finally saw the light of day. The main builder of this most humanist building was called Ambroise Croizat. Who knows him today? 70 years later, it is time to tell this beautiful story of "secu". Where does it come from, how did it become possible, what are its basic principles, who are its builders and what has become of it over the decades? In the end, there will be a parallel portrait of a man, the story of a long struggle for dignity and the portrait of an institution embodied by its everyday actors.
