Flaine is a mountain resort known for monumental outdoor sculptures by artists such as Pablo Picasso, and for its 1960s Bauhaus-inspired concrete buildings, many of which house ski-in/ski-out hotels. A cable car travels up to the slopes of the Grandes Platières peak, which offers sweeping views of Mont Blanc. In summer, the area is popular for its hiking and biking trails and the 18-hole golf course at Les Carroz.
