L'avvocato delle donne (1997)
Irene, an intelligent 45-year-old lawyer, runs a law firm in Rome with her colleague Giulia and aspiring lawyer Alice. She's totally devoted to her 14-year-old son Lorenzo, who has never really recovered from the separation from his father, a famous conductor. In the course of her professional activities, Irene gets to know charming public prosecutor Sandro Gruber, who falls in love with her. Irene needs all her strength for her depressive son, and fights her feelings for Sandro as best she can. When Sandro succeeds in gaining Lorenzo's trust, however, he finally manages to win Irene's heart. Irene's work as a lawyer continually presents her with difficult cases in which helpless women fall victim to violent husbands, unscrupulous doctors, or misguided justice. Unshakably ambitious, Irene helps the women gain the rights they deserve.
