A hunter in search of game gets caught in a wolf trap. He suffers terrible pain and as he cannot succeed to free himself, he send his little boy to run for help. The little one starts on his errand at a lively pace, but soon meets some of his playmates and forgets the troubles of his father. After a while he reaches home, where he finds his brothers and sisters, but he does not mention his father's misfortune. He shows the children how to build an automobile and the fun is great when this is achieved. In the meantime, the hunter has been released by a peasant and, returning home, he finds his children in great enjoyment. The little chauffeur gets a severe thrashing for his forgetfulness.
