Plot summary
Set in 1950s, the southwest border of China. Veteran Ma and Recruit Yan are friends, they are partnered as a patrol group. Ma misses enemy spy because of his carelessness and breach of principle. Yan criticizes Ma and they have a falling-out. After the help from partners, they become reconciled and work together to catch the spies and protect a bridge from being destroyed.
