Tromsø, a city in northern Norway, is a major cultural hub above the Arctic Circle. It’s famed as a viewing point for colorful Northern Lights that sometime light up the nighttime sky. The city’s historic center, on the island of Tromsø, is distinguished by its centuries-old wooden houses. The 1965 Arctic Cathedral, with its distinctive peaked roof and soaring stained-glass windows, dominates the skyline.
Llamarada (Blackout!) (2022)
Alejandra works as an editor in Buenos Aires. A month-long power shortage in 2014 leads her to investigate the potential causes for this Blackout. She finds that in 1859 a massive solar storm extinguished all power grids. Today a similar event would be catastrophic, as almost everything requires electricity. This is the start of a journey to meet individuals who share Alejandra's growing concern for a global blackout. The last stop is Tromsø, Norway where Alejandra encounters scientists as well as the enigmatic northern lights.
